The styles we offer
Classical Ballet
This is the most disciplined and most important dance form. Children can start Classical Ballet classes at Dancesteps from the age of 2. At this age the pupils learn through a sense of fun and exciting but controlled environment. It is a proven fact that children who do Ballet also excel at academic studies. Classical Ballet enables a child to improve their posture, musicality and give them confidence and discipline that will stay with them as they grow and benefit them later in life.
Tap
Tap is a great dance form to study to keep the brain motivated - brain training. Is is quite a difficult art form but worth while studying. Tap is all about rhythm and intricate footwork. A great skill is achieved by children who study this dance form.
Modern
Modern compliments the Classical Ballet technique. It is a good form of dance to study for children who also wish to participate in Jazz, Hip Hop or Disco classes. Modern is great for developing strength, coordination and rhythm. It is a structured class but extremely enjoyable and the children are also free to express themselves through their movements.
Jazz
Jazz is a development of modern. This is where the students can do different types of Jazz. EG, Commercial Jazz, which is mostly seen by pop stars and what they promote in their music videos.
Disco
Style is more uptempo and very energetic and really good for keeping your children fit.
Hip Hop
This style is a development of Jazz and is mostly known as Street Jazz which is advertised by the famous groups such as 'Diversity' and 'Flawless' as seen on 'Britain's got Talent'.
Ballroom - Latin American
This is as advertised on 'Strictly Come Dancing'. This is a good class for children to further their dance training, working with a partner and being aware of the presence of other people and working as a team in the dance studio. Ballroom also encourages space awareness.
Riverdance
This is a structured dance form originating from Ireland. Here the children learn traditional Irish technique in a fun environment whilst working with others. They also learn intricate footwork and special patterns.
Drama
This is great for confidence building, it is a hobby where children can indulge in their fairy tales and encourage their creative imaginations.
Singing
these are mainly private lessons for children who wish to learn techniques of vocal training to enhance their learning of Performing Arts.
Zumba
Commencing 23rd August at Dancesteps with instructor Emily.
Taking place on
Tuesday's @ 8.45-9.30pm and Sunday's (commencing 10th September) @10.45-11.30am.
